Because Gum Health is the Foundation of Strong Teeth

Do you experience bleeding while brushing, red and swollen gums, or persistent bad breath? These symptoms could be early signs of “Gum Disease,” which, if left untreated, can progress to Periodontitis. This condition involves the destruction of the bone supporting the teeth, leading to loose teeth and potentially tooth loss. Timely treatment is therefore crucial, not only to halt the disease but also to preserve the foundation of your teeth and maintain your overall long-term oral health.

Our Services

We provide systematic care and treatment for gum disease, ranging from early stages to severe cases, performed by a team of expert dentists.

  • Scaling : A basic cleaning procedure to remove tartar and plaque above the gum line, which are the main causes of gingivitis.
  • Root Planing : For advanced gum disease, this deep cleaning procedure removes tartar and bacteria from beneath the gum line and root surfaces. It smooths the root surface to allow the gums to reattach firmly.
  • Periodontal Surgery : In severe cases, the dentist may consider surgery to lift the gums for deeper cleaning access or perform bone grafting in areas where bone has been destroyed.
  • Long-term Care and Follow-up : We emphasize follow-up appointments and continuous care to prevent the recurrence of the disease.

Who Should Consider Gum Disease Treatment

You should schedule an appointment for a gum health check-up as soon as possible if you notice these signs:

  • Bleeding easily while brushing or flossing.
  • Gums that are dark red, swollen, or tender to the touch.
  • Persistent and severe bad breath.
  • Receding gums, making your teeth appear abnormally long.
  • Teeth feeling loose or starting to separate.
  • Pus oozing from the gum line.

How to Prepare

Gum disease treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis.

  1. Undergo Diagnosis : The dentist will measure the depth of gum pockets (Periodontal Charting) and take X-rays to assess the level of bone loss.
  2. Provide Complete Health Information : You should inform the dentist of any underlying conditions (such as diabetes), medications you are taking, and smoking habits, as these factors affect the progression of the disease.
  3. Treatment Planning : The dentist will explain the treatment plan and procedures to you in detail.
  4. Prepare to Adjust Habits : Effective gum disease treatment requires cooperation in maintaining proper oral hygiene at home alongside professional care.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Gum disease treatment is a topic many people may not fully understand. We have compiled frequently asked questions to answer your doubts and provide you with useful information.

Before the procedure, the dentist will administer a local anesthetic to the treatment area, so you will not feel any pain during the process. After treatment, you may experience slight tooth sensitivity or irritation.

In the early stage (Gingivitis), it can be completely cured. However, if it has progressed to periodontitis with bone destruction, treatment focuses on “controlling the disease” to keep it stable and prevent further progression. It is not possible to restore lost bone to its original state (except through bone grafting surgery).

Normal scaling cleans only the area above the gum line. Root planing is a deep cleaning procedure where instruments are used to remove tartar and bacteria attached to the root surface “under the gums,” an area that general scaling cannot reach.

If left untreated, inflammation will spread, progressively destroying the bone and tissues surrounding the teeth. This causes gum recession, loose teeth, and eventually, the loss of that tooth. Additionally, research links oral inflammation to other systemic diseases in the body.

The key is proper and consistent oral hygiene care at home, including brushing and using dental floss or interdental brushes to clean between teeth. This should be combined with visiting the dentist for check-ups and scaling every 3-6 months as recommended.
