English-Speaking Dentist in Bangkok for International Patients
Smile and Shine Dental Clinic is an English-speaking dental clinic on Rama 3 Road, Bangkok, led by Dr. Nalat, an implant dentist and Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI). We have cared for patients from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the USA, the UK, Germany and many other countries since 2016, and have placed more than 2,000 dental implants.
Whether you are flying in for dental implants or live in Bangkok and need a check-up, crown or cleaning, our team treats you in English. You can send us your X-ray or photos before you travel and receive a preliminary plan and cost estimate.

Implant treatment planned around your trip
Most international patients come to us for dental implants, from a single missing tooth to full-arch treatment such as All-on-4 and implant overdentures. Every case is planned by the same implant dentist from consultation to the final crown.
One dentist, start to finish
Dr. Nalat examines, plans and places your implants herself, and explains every option in clear English so you can decide with confidence.
3D planning before surgery
We use CBCT (3D X-ray), an intraoral scanner and computer-guided surgery when appropriate, so your implant position is planned on screen before treatment.
Transparent pricing in THB
You receive a written treatment plan with itemised costs before anything is done. Prices for the implant systems we use are listed below.
International implant systems
We use Straumann (Switzerland) and leading Korean systems including Neobiotech, Osstem and Dentium, so parts are available if you need care at home later.
Sterilisation you can see
Instruments are sterilised following international infection-control protocols, and single-use items are used wherever possible.
Easy to reach in Bangkok
We are on Rama 3 Road, close to central Bangkok and the Chao Phraya riverside. Our team can help you plan appointments around your hotel stay.
Other dental treatments for international patients and expats
Besides dental implants, we provide general and cosmetic dentistry in English for visitors and for expats living in Bangkok. Many patients combine treatments, for example a cleaning or whitening during an implant trip. Ask us how many visits your treatment needs so you can plan your stay.

Dental bridges
A fixed bridge to replace one or more missing teeth using the neighbouring teeth.

Steps for dental implants: a guide for international patients
Dental implant treatment for international patients takes two trips to Bangkok. Plan about two weeks for the first trip (consultation, surgery and a check-up) and about 7–14 days for the second trip (final crown or bridge). Healing between the trips takes at least about 3–6 months, and you can return any time up to one year after surgery.
| Stage | Where | Time needed |
|---|---|---|
| Remote consultation and planning | From home | No visit needed |
| Trip 1: consultation, implant surgery, check-up | Bangkok | About 2 weeks |
| Healing (osseointegration) | At home | At least 3–6 months, return within 1 year |
| Trip 2: abutment and final crown or bridge | Bangkok | About 7–14 days |
| Long-term maintenance | Home + clinic | Check-up once a year recommended |
-
Remote consultation and planning No visit needed
Before you travel, send us your 3D X-ray (CBCT) if you have one, your medical history and photos of your teeth. Dr. Nalat reviews your case and we reply in English with a treatment plan and cost estimate. Email contact@ssdc-dental.com is the best way to send files; you can also reach us on LINE. Video or phone calls are not required.
-
First visit: final consultation and digital scan About 60 minutes
We confirm your treatment plan, take a CBCT and digital scan for computer-guided implant planning, and fit a temporary restoration if needed.
-
Implant surgery 3–7 days after the first visit · up to 3 hours
The implants are placed with computer-guided technology under local anaesthesia. For full-mouth cases and front teeth, a temporary restoration is fitted so you do not leave without teeth. Single back teeth usually do not need a temporary tooth.
-
Check-up About 7 days after surgery · 15 minutes
A short visit to check healing before you fly home. We recommend planning your return flight after this check-up.
-
Healing at home At least 3–6 months
The implants bond with the jawbone (osseointegration). Healing time depends on your bone and whether bone grafting was needed. International patients can schedule the next trip flexibly, up to one year after surgery. We stay in touch by email or LINE.
-
Abutment and final crown or bridge 7–14 days
We place the abutments, take digital impressions and fit your final crowns or bridge within about 7–14 days, depending on the complexity of your case.
-
Long-term follow-up Once a year recommended
You receive written instructions to care for your implants at home. We recommend returning once a year for a professional cleaning and check-up.
What to send us for your free remote consultation
- 3D X-ray (CBCT) or a recent panoramic X-ray, if you have one
- Your medical history and current medications
- Clear photos of your teeth: front smile, upper and lower teeth, and the missing-tooth area
- The dates you plan to be in Bangkok
Sending these in advance lets us plan your treatment, keep your in-clinic visits to a minimum and give you a realistic cost estimate.

How many trips to Thailand do I need for dental implants?
Most patients need two trips. Plan about two weeks for the first trip (consultation, implant surgery 3–7 days later, and a check-up about 7 days after surgery) and about 7–14 days for the second trip, when the final crown or bridge is fitted. Healing between trips takes at least about 3–6 months, and you can return any time up to one year after surgery.
Can I get a treatment plan before I travel?
Yes. Email your 3D X-ray (CBCT) or panoramic X-ray if you have one, your medical history and photos of your teeth to contact@ssdc-dental.com, or send them via LINE. We reply in English with your options and an estimated cost; no video or phone call is needed. The final plan is confirmed at your first visit.
Can I have other dental treatments, not only implants?
Yes. Besides dental implants we provide crowns, bridges, teeth whitening, Airflow cleaning, gum treatment, wisdom tooth removal and dentures, all explained in English. Treatments such as cleaning and whitening are done in a single visit; ask us how many visits other treatments need so you can plan your stay.
Does the dentist speak English?
Yes. Dr. Nalat treats international patients in English and our team communicates with you in English before, during and after your treatment.
Which implant brands do you use?
We use Straumann implants from Switzerland and Korean implant systems including Neobiotech, Osstem and Dentium. All are internationally used systems, which helps if you need maintenance with a dentist in your home country.
Do you offer All-on-4 for international patients?
Yes. Full-arch treatment such as All-on-4 and implant overdentures is available. The number of visits and total cost depend on your bone condition and the type of final teeth, so we quote full-arch cases individually after reviewing your CT scan.
Is dental implant surgery painful?
Implant placement is done under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. Most patients report mild discomfort or swelling for a few days afterwards, which is managed with prescribed medication.
